Angie Bowie has chosen to stay in Celebrity Big Brother following the death of her ex-husband.
Music legend David Bowie unfortunately passed away late last night from cancer aged 69 with the news breaking early his morning.
"David Bowie died peacefully today surrounded by his family after a courageous 18 month battle with cancer," a spokesperson for the family said in a statement released on Facebook. "While many of you will share in this loss, we ask that you respect the family’s privacy during their time of grief."
CBB's Angie was married to David for decade in the 70s with the pair having son Duncan Jones together.
A spokesperson for Celebrity Big Brother revealed earlier today that show bosses were to inform Angie of the heartbreaking news away from the cameras as soon as possible.
They said: "Following the very sad news of David Bowie's death this morning, we can confirm that Angie Bowie will be informed off camera today at the earliest opportunity."
The statement added: "We will update further once this has taken place."
An updated statement now reveals that after being told of the news and speaking to show producers, Angie has decided to STAY in the house.
"Following the very sad news of David Bowie’s death, we can now confirm that Angie Bowie has been informed off camera by her representatives. She has taken the decision to continue in the programme," Channel 5 said. 'The decision to remain in the house is entirely her choice, and she has been given the option to leave at any time if she changes her mind."
They added: "Appropriate support will be available to Angie at any time if needed."
She is one of fifteen housemates remaining in the current series with another celeb set to get the boot in this Friday's latest eviction.
