Celebrity Big Brother housemate Angie Bowie has been informed of the passing of her ex-husband.
Music legend David Bowie sadly passed away late last night from cancer aged 69 with the news breaking early his morning.
"David Bowie died peacefully today surrounded by his family after a courageous 18 month battle with cancer," a spokesperson for the family said in a statement. "While many of you will share in this loss, we ask that you respect the family’s privacy during their time of grief."
CBB's Angie was married to David for decade in the 70s with the pair having son Duncan Jones together.
Chatting in the house only this past week, Angie opened up about her relationship with the musician and branded their break up in the 80s "terrible" and "awful" .
A spokesperson for Celebrity Big Brother has today revealed that show bosses will inform Angie of the unfortunate news away from the cameras when she wakes up this morning.
They said: "Following the very sad news of David Bowie's death this morning, we can confirm that Angie Bowie will be informed off camera today at the earliest opportunity."
The statement added: "We will update further once this has taken place."
