Celebrity Big Brother 2015: Channel 5 in trouble with Ofcom again

Celebrity Big Brother

Channel 5 have been the target of a number of complaints to TV watchdog Ofcom over Celebrity Big Brother.

It's after the nightly highlights show broadcast footage of Janice Dickinson seeming to suffer a fit in the Diary Room after an insect bite.

Janice rushed to the Diary Room to scream at Big Brother during Tuesday night's show: “I’ve just got bitten by a bee...and my finger is swollen and it is going up my wrist...”

She quickly received medical assistance from the show's team before being moved to hospital.

Once Janice recovered from the bee sting she returned to the house and told Big Brother in the Diary Room: “I’m ready to go back and get stuck in the house and try very, very hard to make everyone feel comfortable and at ease.”

However some viewers felt the footage was 'too intrusive' and 'insensitive' as cameras continued rolling while Janice was on the Diary Room floor being attended to by paramedics.

TV watchdog Ofcom has received a number of complaints regarding the incident and will now be looking at whether or not to launch an investigation.

An Ofcom spokesman commented: “We have received 37 complaints so far about the housemate’s seizure in reaction to a sting.

“We will assess these complaints before deciding whether to investigate or not.”

Celebrity Big Brother continues nightly on Channel 5.
