Only around 1,000 votes split Helen Wood and Ashleigh Coyle during Friday night's Big Brother 2014 final, it's been claimed.

In her exit press interviews yesterday, Helen Wood revealed that she had been told around 100,000 votes had been cast for her to win the show and the £100,000 prize money.

Her and Ashleigh will split by just 1.2% of the vote, which suggests that the pair were separated by just around 1,000 or so actual votes.

Speaking yesterday, Ashleigh admitted that she and Helen spent their last few minutes in the house together laughing at the result before the winner was announced.

"We were in that much shock, just like what are the chances?" Ashleigh said of being left in the final two with Helen.

She added: "I do her wish her all the luck in the world... [but] It was very hard living with her, we were at each other's throats all the time."

Meanwhile, Helen heaped on the praise to Ashleigh, saying she was "very humble, very genuine, very like me, but very different to me too, but she is a nice girl."

She said: "I want all the differences put to one side, I can't wait to see her at the wrap party."
