Winston Showan's shock Big Brother 2014 eviction has become the most watched of the series to date.

The Essex lad was a surprise exit in last night's latest live show, which had seen a double eviction.

All of Winston, Chris R Wright, Christopher Hall, Mark Byron and Pav Paul had faced the public vote.

Mark had been the first to be booted out, leaving to boos after being made the bookies' favourite to leave first.

But despite odds as long as 21/1 to leave, Winston was then announced as the second evictee of the series.

An average audience of more than 1.3 million viewers tuned in to last night's bumper live show between 9PM and 10:30PM.

While it was the most watched episode of this series, like this year's entire run, it was well down on last summer where 1.7 million watched the final eviction.

Big Brother continues nightly on C5 and concludes next Friday night with the final.

Meanwhile, over on Channel 4, the Singer Takes It All actually held strong despite the adverse social reaction.

An average audience of 1.1 million tuned in from 9PM to watch the second episode of the Alan Carr fronted karaoke contest.
