Big Brother 2014 spoilers: Power Couple will influence nominations... but are NOT immune

This week is set to see one of the most twist filled weeks in Big Brother ever.

Last night we saw the start of a new Power housemate reign as Toya A Washington began her Power trip.

On Thursday evening, a new Power housemate was chosen, this time voted for by the housemates themselves.

Each housemate had one nomination each which was made in the privacy of the Diary Room. They could not vote for themselves nor any of those who were up for eviction.

With four votes, Toya beat Kimberly (three votes) to win the Power.

In the live eviction show, Big Brother revealed that Toya would not be alone in her power trip as she was instructed to to pick another Housemate as the other half of the ‘Power Couple’ partnership and she picked Matthew.

"I'm going to choose someone who I think we think alike, who I respect a lot and someone who I know will work together. It's going to be Matthew," Toya said.

In the second half of the twist, Big Brother gave the pair 30 seconds to jointly nominate a housemate for eviction. Neither Jale nor Helen could be nominated.

After much discussion, and a warning from Big Brother to make a decision, the pair then nominated Christopher to face eviction next week.

BB bosses tell us that the Power Couple will continue to rule the house over the weekend and "influence nominations", whatever that means, which will take place on Sunday.

But there's another twist to come as, unlike the other Power housemates, Toya and Matthew are not safe.

Host Emma Willis teased that by the end of the weekend one of them will also be facing eviction alongside Christopher, Jale and whoever else is nominated.

Big Brother continues nightly on Channel 5.
