Her bug has now lasted over a month after it originally hit her in the house on the Channel 5 series back in January.
Writing in her latest column for OK! Magazine this week, Sam says: “I’ve been ill for six weeks. I’m better than I was but I’m still not 100% and I’m still having tests done.”
She adds: “I was a good size eight before the show but over the course of two weeks in the house I lost a stone and a half because I just couldn’t keep food down. It was horrible.”
Earlier this month Sam admitted she had cancer fears over the 'crippling' pain after doctors failed to diagnose her with any problems.
“I haven’t had my results back yet. I had two trips to the hospital and blood tests and other tests,” Sam said. “Whatever it is – virus, infection, it could be something more. They haven’t said but I’ve got all things going through my mind like cancer and God knows what.
“I haven’t been able to hold food down for two weeks. It’s like my body has shut down.”
But despite Sam's illness she's still turned up to film the new series of The Only Way Is Essex this week, which begins on ITV2 on Sunday.
