The TOWIE star was one of twelve housemates to enter the show in last night's live launch show.
Speaking to host Emma Willis just before going into the house, Sam insisted she didn't have a boyfriend and was "ready to mingle."
Sources meanwhile have claimed that Sam hopes to use the show to get back at her ex Joey Essex.
One pal explained: "Nobody is suggesting that if she does do CBB she's going to hook up with somebody like Joey did in the jungle, but it would be the ideal way for her to show that she's over him and present herself as strong, feisty, single girl."
Talking before last night's live show, the friend added: "After being in a relationship for so long, Sam's starting to find herself and she wants to present herself as something more than Joey's lovelorn ex.
"Winning the show can open a lot of doors, career wise. She knows this could really be her year."
The show continues nightly on Channel 5.
