This evening will see six more new faces enter the house, just 24 hours after the series kicked off.
Ex DC Dan was recently working on Operation Yewtree, which has been investigating the Jimmy Savile sexual abuse scandal.
His former bosses have already warned Channel 5 about the legalities, but Dan has insisted that his decision won't shame the force.
"It’s not like I’m going into some porno industry," he said ahead of tonight's show. “It’s a game show at the end of the day. I don’t see how it would affect the image of the police.
“I’m not going to make a tit of myself. I don’t want to embarrass myself, let alone the police service. So I honestly don’t think it should have any impact on the investigation.”
He added: “I think there will be some concern within the police, but ultimately I wouldn’t want to jeopardise a lot of the work I did with victims in the last eight months.”
But Dan did confess that going onto the show probably wouldn't be "great" for his old team.
He told the Daily Star newspaper this morning: "I’ve kept it very quiet because generally I don’t think it’s going to be great for them.
“Obviously I can’t talk about the content of the investigation but I’m sure there may be a few concerned faces within my old department.
“Yewtree is such a high-profile investigation it’s still front-page news quite regularly and it could create a bit of a stir if that old detective from Operation Yewtree is going into Big Brother.”
Big Brother UK continues with its Part 2 of its live launch tonight on Channel 5.
