Big Brother 2013 housemates will have to grow their own food in 'eco house'

Big Brother 2013 is really going back to basics this year, with the housemates having to grow their own food.

And this year Big Brother has gone green, housing the wannabes in a modern 'eco house' for the duration of their nine-week-stay.

“It’s all about self-sufficiency and recycling this year," Big Brother teases. “As the housemates enter they will be greeted by a huge wall containing recycled life-size front doors. But what do they signify – and what lies behind them?

“The sweeping staircase will take them down into an eco-style living space."

Of course, this being Big Brother, all is not as it seems.

Says BB: “Although impressive in appearance, this house is not a hotel and provides a tougher environment than ever before.”

An insider added: “It won’t be a walk in the park. Expect a summer of hell in the home from hell."

But what we want to know is, does this mean the chickens are back too?

Big Brother 2013 is expected to launch in the second week on Channel 5 with new host Emma Willis.

Spin off Big Brother’s Bit On The Side will also return this summer, nightly Monday to Saturday after Big Brother and on Sunday lunchtimes on Channel 5 hosted by Emma, Rylan Clark and AJ Odudu.

BB fans will also be pleased to hear that live streaming returns nightly between 7-9pm on 5*.
