Jamie East and Alice Levine have both confirmed that they won’t be returning to Bit On The Side for Big Brother 2013.

The duo had originally fronted the digital spin-off show alongside Emma Willis, but it was announced today they wouldn't be back for the summer series.

It follows a revamp of the show by bosses, which has already seen Brian Dowling ditched from the main show in favour of Emma.

The Sun reported this morning that making Emma the new face of the show was just the first step in what’s to be a mini revamp of the aging reality series.

“As well as shaking up the main show, bosses are keen to freshen up Bit On The Side,” a source told the newspaper today. “It is still early days – but Emma will still have a role on the show alongside other new presenters.

“The aim is to take the show a bit more upmarket than it is now.

“Sadly, Jamie and Alice won’t be back.”East wrote:

Confirming the news on their Twitter accounts this afternoon, Jamie tweeted: “To those asking, yes the reports are true. I had an amazing 5 series of BBBOTS and wish the whole team nothing but the best of luck. I’ll not be off your screens for long, in fact filming today, so will see you all soon."

Meanwhile, Emma added: "My time on @bbbots was THE best – with Radio 1 & other job commitments though, had to make January my last one. 5 series!! #greatmemories

“Good luck to everyone on @bbbots for the next series – love the team, love the show and look forward to seeing all the changes for summer!”
