The former X Factor finalist joined this year's latest CBB housemate lineup during last night's live launch show, alongside a list of eleven other celebs.
But pals reckon that the singer could have been a poor choice to compete in the series.
One source told Star magazine: "Many of the people closest to Ryan think doing the show will set him up for an even bigger fall than X Factor did.
"Big Brother courts controversy, and as Rylan always speaks his mind, it could get him in trouble if others are winding him up"
They added: "It would lead to another big backlash and do his carer more damage than good."
Speaking before going into the house, Rylan seemed confident about having a fun time, although he was concerned about one thing: "I would dread going in there and people seeing me without my make up on!"
But the pal warned: "He thinks doing the show he can turn things around and be taking seriously, but it could backfire horrendously."
So far and it's so good for Rylan, who remains the favourite to win.
But can he keep up the momentum until next week's final?
