Nadine Coyle has revealed Girls Aloud are set to reunite for an arena tour at the start of next year.
The girl group, who were formed nearly a decade ago on Popstars: The Rivals, started a yearlong break three years ago (cough).
But now they're FINALLY preparing to make a comeback, with Nadine telling the Sunday Mirror this weekend: “I know everyone’s been speculating about what we will do. It will be arena dates at the start of next year and we will have new music to go with it.
“One or two singles I would think. It depends on how well it goes with the tour announcement. If things work well, there’s enough demand and we’re all in the same head space as a band then who knows what could happen."
Speaking at Sir Elton John’s AIDS Foundation Oscar Viewing party in LA, Nadine also dismissed rumours of arguments and rows between the group.
She insisted: “I’m definitely looking forward to seeing the girls. It’s been a long time since we’ve all been in the same room together.”
And Nadine made it crystal clear there was no rivalry between herself and Cheryl, adding: “Everyone was so keen to put Cheryl and me against each other – but we just weren’t enemies. We are very different people musically, that’s all.”
Girls Aloud have arguably achieved the longest careers of any reality stars in the UK, having released a record breaking 21 Top 10 singles, and five studio albums which have sold millions of copies.
But the girls went their separate ways in 2009, as then-X Factor judge Cheryl Cole brought out her debut solo album 3 Words.
Nadine and Nicola Roberts quickly followed with their own records, although neither matched the success of Cheryl's solo efforts.
Other band members Kimberley Walsh and Sarah Harding meanwhile have spent their time off exploring other opportunities, with Kimberley replacing Amanda Holden last October as Princess Fiona in West End show Shrek The Musical.
Asked about the group's plans for their 10-year anniversary later this year, Kimberley recently teased: "We will definitely do something. I feel bad but my lips are sealed for now."
