'Biggest Loser' trainer Angie Dowds is found dead at Beachy Head, Eastbourne

The Biggest Loser star and personal trainer Angie Dowds has been found dead at Beach Head, Eastbourne. The star of the ITV1 reality show is feared to have fallen or jumped from the chalk cliff on Sunday, November 20th.

42-year-old Dowds was best known as one of the firm but fair physical trainers on the dieting show which has aired on ITV1 for two series. A spokesperson for the police said: ''Just after 4.30pm on Sunday, November 20, members of the public reported that a woman was seen to jump or fall from the top of cliffs at Beachy Head.''

"Coastguards found the body of a woman at the foot of the cliffs about an hour later. There are no suspicious circumstances and it is believed that the body may be that of a 42-year-old woman from London." Dowds is reported to have battled drink and drugs in the past but in 2006, she was given the accolade of  'Personal Trainer Of The Year'

In January of this year, she starred alongside Davina McCall and Richard Callender on a primetime installment of The Biggest Loser. Her colleagues tweeted their condolences with Davina saying: ''Rest in peace Angie Dowds @angechops. So so sad."

Meanwhile, Richard added: ''R.I.P Angie (@angechops) Dowds. You helped inspire & educate millions with both a growl and a smile. You'll be missed. #inaquietplacenow xx."
