ITV1 talent/gameshow Stars In Your Eyes is set to be reworked for a new series 'Guess The Star', a report has claimed. The new series will see celebrities singing a song by a musical idol without revealing who they are. Viewers will then have to guess who the celebrity is supposed to be.
The competition which saw members of the public dress up as and sing a song by a number of famous stars also had a number of celebrity spin-offs and was axed in 2006. Matthew Kelly presented the show until 2004 when Cat Deeley took over the reins for two further series. According to The Mirror, ITV bosses are now hoping to resurrect it with a slightly updated format.
A source at ITV told the paper: ''Basically, this is Celebrity Stars In Their Eyes with an additional guessing element. Instead of the star coming out and saying, 'I'm going to be...' they perform a song, and the audience has to work out who they are."
Reportedly, the show has already filmed a pilot episode in Manchester earlier this month with TV presenter Nicky Campbell dressing up as former Oasis frontman Liam Gallagher to the amusement of audience members who described his performance as 'hilarious'.
