I’m A Celebrity 2019 campmates win roast dinners in Love Island-themed live Trial

Nine celebs will enjoy slap-up feast - with Ian Wright, Andy Whyment and Cliff Parisi missing out

The I’m A Celebrity 2019 campmates have won nine roast dinners by competing in a LIVE Bushtucker Trial based on Love Island.

Tonight’s episode of the jungle reality show featured its annual live challenge, which usually parodies another of ITV’s biggest hits.

This year was no different, with bosses building a set modelled on ITV2’s hugely popular dating contest Love Island.

Four celebs had already embarked on a separate task, leaving the other eight to gather around a replica fire pit.

“Don’t worry, we won’t make you couple up,” joked host Ant McPartlin.

The stakes were higher than usual, as the group was competing not for typical bush grub, but full roast dinners.

Each star won would represent dinner for one person, in an order determined beforehand – meaning there would be no sharing half measures.

The Trial consisted of four rounds, each beginning with Ant or Dec Donnelly exclaiming: “I’ve got a text!”

Caitlyn Jenner, Ian Wright and Jacqueline Jossa faced part one, ‘Pied Off’, in which they had to retrieve stars from ‘pies’ using only their mouths.

The fake bakes all contained slime, alongside fish guts, mealworms and cockroaches.

Producers had to check whether Ian used his hand illegally, but they secured all three of their stars.

Round two was ‘Critter Dumped’, in which Adele Roberts, Cliff Parisi, James Haskell and Roman Kemp had 90 seconds to transfer pigs’ testicles between each other using only their mouths.

Every two testicles passed down the line represented one star. They managed six in total, earning three meals.

Part three saw Caitlyn, Ian and Andrew Maxwell get in the ‘Croc Tub’. They each had 30 seconds to down a disgusting drink with a Love Island-inspired name, as baby crocs circled them.

Andrew drank ‘Caroline Yak’, a blend of cockroaches, while Caitlyn was served vomit fruit concoction ‘Iain Hurling’.

Ian then wasted no time swallowing ‘Casa A-Gore’, made of pigs’ penises, and the trio emerged with another three stars.

Finally, James and Roman got up to some ‘Snakey Behaviour’. Lying on a day bed, they had 90 seconds to transfer stars between creature-filled boxes on the opposite sides.

As the name suggests, they had to complete the task while large snakes slithered around them.

The challenge proved tough, with crabs nipping James as he attempted to unscrew the stars.

While he pulled two out, Roman was unable to screw them back down in time, and they got out of bed empty-handed.

“It was difficult, the crab wouldn’t get out the way,” commented James.

Therefore, the group ended the Trial with nine out of twelve stars. As they were the last three in the order, Ian, Cliff and Andy Whyment will not get to enjoy the roast.

Meanwhile, Andy, Kate Garraway, Myles Stephenson and Nadine Coyle began an epic trek across the Australian outback that will “push them to their limits”.

They must climb down cliffs, race across rivers and dig deep in to the ground to find twelve care packages to bring back to camp.

Viewers will see the quest play out when I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! continues tomorrow at 9.00pm on ITV.

Spin-off Extra Camp airs immediately after the main show every night on ITV2.
