This evening’s episode saw Riyonn Farsad become the fifth candidate to be fired from the BBC One business show.

In this week’s episode, Lord Sugar surprised the candidates at The Apprentice house to set their latest challenge.

He explained that this week the candidates would be heading to Oxford and Cambridge on a scavenger hunt.

Jemelin Artigas led Team Empower with Riyonn Farsad, Ryan-Mark Parsons, Lewis Ellis, Carina Lepore and Pamela Laird.

Team Unison was led by Marianne Rawlins with Thomas Skinner, Iasha Masood, Dean Ahmad, Lottie Lion, and Scarlett Allen-Horton.

Half of each team was sent to Oxford while the other halves headed to Cambridge, all given the same list of nine specific items they had to acquire for the cheapest possible price.

Any missing or incorrect items – or failing to return by the 5PM deadline – would result in fines added to each team’s total.

The team with the lowest total spend (including any fines) would win the task.

Empower brought 7 of the 9 items spending £351.20. With fines for the missing two items, their total was £631.20

Unison brought 8 of the 9 items spending £304.49. With a fine for the missing item, their total was £369.49.

For their treat, winning Team Unison went on an indoor rowing experience while losing Team Empower stayed to face Lord Sugar in the final boardroom.

Project manager Jemelin brought Ryan-Mark and Riyonn back for the final showdown.

Delivering his verdict, Lord Sugar concluded: “Riyonn, you have not convinced me with your business skills, I don’t see you as my business partner so Riyonn, you’re fired.”

Making his exit, Riyonn said: “I definitely think it’s a missed opportunity for Lord Sugar. There’s a lot of people in this process that shouldn’t be here.

“I felt I was one of the good ones but at the end of the day it’s his decision.”
