The brand new show welcomes back acts from the past 13 years of BGT to go head to head in a bid to be crowned ultimate champion.

But they’re competing alone, going up against contestants from across the world as well as each other.

Across the first five episodes, nine acts will take to the stage each Saturday night and two will make it through to the grand final.

In the fifth and final heat tonight (September 28), the results saw dance duo Twist and Pulse and singing duo Bars and Melody make it through.

Twist and Pulse won the latest golden buzzer of the series from Alesha Dixon while Bars and Melody won the superfan audience vote. Both will go through to the final.

They complete the final line up, joining last week’s heat winners – American comedian Preacher Lawson and dance duo Stavros Flatley – together with previous heat winners: Salsa dancers Paddy & Nico, illusionist Darcy Oake, German dog act Alexa Lauenburger, dancers MerseyGirls, Ukrainian sand performance artist Kseniya Simonova and daredevil duo Bello and Annaliese Nock.

Here’s a recap of tonight’s fifth round of performances below…

Daliso Chaponda

Former golden buzzer winning comedian Daliso Chaponda finished third in Britain’s Got Talent back in 2017. The stand up was back on the stage tonight hoping to go all the way this time and become Champions of Champions, joking about his plans for any potential prize money.

DMX Comvaleñoz

Asia’s Got Talent finalists DMX Comvaleñoz are a dance group from the Philippines who have been dancing together for a decade. They surprised the judges with not only their moves but also an unexpected quick change during the middle of their routine, which you can watch below.

Ben Hart

Magician Ben Hart first appeared on Britain’s Got Talent earlier in 2019. He returned tonight for The Champions spin-off, performing a magic trick he described as a “life cycle” using a £20 note. While Amanda was left stunned, Simon felt Ben played it too safe with the trick, a comment that David branded “absolute rubbish”.

Alex Magala

One of the most dangerous acts Got Talent has ever seen, sword swallower Alex Magala shocked the judges in Britain’s Got Talent: The Champions this weekend with a daredevil death drop.

Bars and Melody

Musical duo Bars and Melody – made up of Leondre Devries and Charlie Lenehan – previously made the final of Britain’s Got Talent in 2014. For their Champions performance, the pair tonight performed new song Waiting For The Sun. “You two are fantastic” praised David.

Gennady Tkachenko-Papizh

Gennady Tkachenko-Papizh is a unique vocalist who was born in Kazakhstan but currently lives in Berlin. The former Georgia’s Got Talent contestant stunned the judges with his talent, performing amazing sound effects with his voice.

Vicki Barbolak

Comedian Vicki Barbolak from California rose to fame on America’s Got Talent saying that the show helped her “dreams come true”. Vicki started her BGT: The Champions performance tonight emerging from a bright pink caravan on the stage. Despite a few stumbles in her routine, Vicki was praised by Simon as one of his favourite ever acts.

Twist and Pulse (GOLDEN BUZZER)

Twist and Pulse became the final golden buzzer act on Britain’s Got Talent: The Champions. The dancing duo previously appeared on the show on Britain’s Got Talent in 2010. Returning to the stage tonight, best pals Ashley Glazebrook and Glen Murphy showcased more of their famous dance moves and won Alesha’s golden buzzer. She told the pair: “I could just watch you forever, I love it.”

Collabro

Musical theatre singing group Collabro won series eight of BGT in 2014. They returned to Britain’s Got Talent stage for this evening’s Champions heat, singing a cover of Queen’s Who Wants To Live Forever that the judges had nothing but praise for.

Britain’s Got Talent: The Champions continues Saturday nights on ITV.
