After five hit series in the UK, Love Island made its American debut earlier this year on CBS.

Now the first season of Love Island USA is coming to the UK with an air date and channel confirmed.

Love Island USA will begin Saturday night, September 21 at midnight on ITVBe.

The series will then continue nightly on ITVBe in the late night slot.

Hosted by Arielle Vandenberg and narrated by Matthew Hoffman, the US version of Love Island follows much the same format as the British series however instead of filming in Spain takes place at a villa in Fiji.

The first US series aired over five weeks with 22 episodes and a second series for 2020 has already been confirmed.

Kelly Kahl, President, CBS Entertainment said: "The passion of Love Island's audience is incredible. The intensity of their social media engagement has created tremendous enthusiasm for the series here at the Network. We love the show's creative execution and can't wait for next season."

Added Thom Sherman, Senior Executive Vice President, Programming, CBS Entertainment: "After its first season, the U.K. version exploded via word of mouth and social media to become a huge hit, and its viewership has grown every year.

"We believe first season U.S. fans are just as passionate and engaged and we look forward to building on that foundation with another fun season next summer."

Meanwhile, the UK will see its first ever winter series in 2020 as the show moves to a new villa in Cape Town in January.

The summer series in Spain will air as usual later in the year.
