Dev is Radio 1 DJ and TV presenter who will be dancing with professional Dianne Buswell on this year’s series.

Last year saw Dianne make the final with Joe Sugg – can she go one better and lift the glitterball with Dev in 2019?

In this first steps clip it’s revealed the pair will be dancing the Foxtrot for the first live show.

“I don’t what it is!” reacts Dev.

Dianne reveals to the cameras: “He’s never done any type of ballroom dancing in his life.”

As the pair get training underway, Dev is full of praise for his partner.

He says: “Dianne is the best teacher ever. She kind of makes you want to be good. It feels like she’s really trying to get the best out of me.

“Basically, if I get a gold star at the end of the day I’ll go home happy.”

Meanwhile, speaking ahead of the first live show, Dev said: “When I was first asked to be a part of this year’s line-up, I thought that this would definitely be one to tell the Grandkids!

“I know it’s going to be challenging, but it was too much of a fun opportunity to turn down.”

He added: “To be honest I feel quite overwhelmed. I have had so many messages from people wishing me good luck and I’m thinking ‘wow, what have I got myself in to?!’”

Strictly 2019’s first live show starts on Saturday, September 14 at 7PM on BBC One.

As always, no celebs will go home the first week but the panel will still mark the performances and the scores will carry over to the first elimination in week 2.
