Britain’s Got Talent: The Champions continued on ITV tonight, seeing acts from the past 13 years of BGT go head to head with acts from across the world.

The first five weeks will see a series of heats with nine acts competing for two spots in the grand final each Saturday night.

This weekend’s third heat results (September 14) saw dancers Paddy and Nico and illusionist Darcy Oake make the final.

They join last week’s heats winners – German dog act Alexa Lauenburger and dancers MerseyGirls – together with the first heat winners, Ukrainian sand performance artist Kseniya Simonova and daredevil duo Bello and Annaliese Nock.

Each week, one of the judges – Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon and David Walliams – or hosts Ant and Dec send their favourite act straight to the final by pressing the Golden Buzzer.

This week it was David’s turn, and it was salsa duo Paddy and Nico who earned his backing.

He told the pair: “There are very few acts you can watch with a smile on your face and tears in your eyes because this is one of the most joyous, most beautiful, most life affirming acts we’ve ever had on Britain’s Got Talent.”

The remaining acts faced an audience vote which saw Darcy Oake win the second place of the night in the final.

He beat fellow magician and illusionist Richard Jones and DJ Arch Jnr in the audience vote, with the two acts ranking in second and third places respectively.

Other acts on this weekend’s show included comedian Jack Carroll, singing Welsh brothers Richard and Adam and Spain’s Cristina Ramos.

They were joined by dance group The Fire from Holland’s Got Talent and dance group Mayyas from Lebanon who first appeared on Arabs Got Talent.

Another nine acts will go head to head in next Saturday’s fourth and penultimate heat.
