Love Island’s Greg O’Shea breaks silence on Amber Gill split

Love Island winner Greg O’Shea has spoken out to confirm his split from Amber Gill.

It was Greg & Amber who won love Island 2019 in July night beating Tommy Fury & Molly-Mae Hague into second place. Ovie Soko & India Reynolds finished third with Curtis Pritchard & Maura Higgins fourth in the live final.

However it was revealed earlier today that Amber and Greg had split after just five weeks together.

Amber and Greg became the fastest ever winners to part ways and the third couple from the 2019 year’s show to call it quits after Anton Danyluk & Belle Hassan and Chris Taylor & Harley Brash.

Discussing the situation on Ireland’s Late Late Show, Greg gave his side of the separation.

“First of all, the age old saying, ‘Don’t believe everything you read’ ok?” he said about tabloid reports regarding the split claiming he had dumped Amber by text.

Greg explained: “Me and Amber have been chatting the last couple days, over phone calls. The thing about the text isn’t true, people just want to sell stories. We’re mad about each other, she’s gorgeous, smart, funny personality but you need to be realistic about the situation.

“She lives in the UK, every event wants her there and she deserves all of it. I decided to come back to Ireland to do my things here. I’m trying to get to the Olympics with the [rugby] sevens team. I’ve my law exams coming up.”

He continued: “We’re both so jam packed busy and you need to take the opportunities by the scruff of the neck. We’re just being realistic about the situation and protecting our careers.”

Although the pair aren’t currently together, Greg didn’t rule out a possible reunion.

He said: “I’m mad about her and we’ll see about the future but for now it’s not happen.”

Love Island will return in 2020 with its first ever winter series in January, filmed in Cape Town.

The summer season will air as usual from Majorca later in the year.
