The pair finished this summer’s series in fourth place behind winners Amber Gill and Greg O’Shea.

While they’ve been out of the the villa for more than a month now, Maura and Curtis say they’re still not ready to label their relationship status.

Appearing on ITV’s This Morning, Curtis told hosts Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield: “I’m really happy to see where this is going. I haven’t asked her to be his girlfriend, I’m not going to do it on TV. I’m really old-fashioned…

“It’s 2019 nobody needs to label anything, but my goal in life is to be happy and this girl makes me happy so everything’s perfect right now.”

Maura chimed in: “I’m happy too, so I’m happy that he’s happy.”

Denying rumours of a split, Curtis went on to explain: “We’re going fantastic. Things are going really good we’ve not had one argument since leaving the villa.

“It’s a different world in there and come out to the real world so we’ve not been able to spend every day together.”

Maura added: “It’s because we don’t put everything on social media we don’t have to prove to people that we’re happy. That’s all that matters.”

It was recently reported that Maura is in line for her own reality show, according to The Sun newspaper.

However Curtis won’t be involved amid claims that producers are avoiding filming with the couples over fears they’ll split before the show airs.

“She is great on screen so bosses want to create a platform where viewers can still get their fix,” a source said of Maura. “While her and Curtis are still together, no-one really knows what the future holds for them as a couple so producers are focusing on Maura.

“They are ironing out details at the moment. She has ratings-winner potential, they just have to settle on the right tone.”
