Celebrity MasterChef 2019 is on its way and the start date has been confirmed.

Celebrity MasterChef invites a number of famous faces from the world of sport, show business, music and drama to chop, slice and sizzle their way to the trophy.

Seasoned judges, John Torode and Gregg Wallace return to have their taste buds challenged, whilst they whittle down the twenty celebrity contestants; comparing their culinary skills in their hunt to single out one champion.

Celebrity MasterChef 2019 air date

Celebrity MasterChef starts Monday 2nd September at 9PM, it’s been announced. Further episodes will air on Wednesday, September 4 at 8PM and Friday, September 6 at 9PM.

You’ll be able to watch on TV via BBC One and online through the BBC iPlayer.

In the first four weeks, celebs will be split into groups of 5 who will take part in the heats, with two making it through to the semi-finals in each week.

The celebs taking part in the first heat are iconic fashion designer Zandra Rhodes, former professional football player Neil Ruddock, TV personality Joey Essex, professional dancer Oti Mabuse and long-distance runner and former marine Andy Grant.

Meanwhile, the full list of celebs on the MasterChef’s 2019 cast includes actors Adam Woodyatt and Elizabeth Bourgine, actor and radio presenter Mim Shaikh and TV personalities Vicky Pattison, Dom Parker and Dr Alex George.

Joining them are legend of Motown Martha Reeves, Olympic gold medallist Greg Rutherford, MBE, Heavyweight boxer Dillian Whyte and former boxing manager and transgender campaigner Kellie Maloney.

Rounding up the line up are Weatherman Tomasz Schafernaker, and superstar DJ lawyer Judge Jules, Radio 1 presenter Rickie Haywood-Williams, presenter and professional quizzer Jenny Ryan and comedian Josie Long.

Those that make it through the heats will go forward to the semi-final week in a bid to make it through to the grand final.

The winner will follow in the footsteps of previous winners.

They include John Partridge, Angellica Bell, Alexis Conran, Kimberly Wyatt, Sophie Thompson, Ade Edmondson, Emma Kennedy, Phil Vickery, Lisa Faulkner, Jayne Middlemiss, Liz McClarnon, Nadia Sawalha and Matt Dawson.
