Strictly Come Dancing 2019 line up: Fourth celebrity contestant confirmed – Saffron Barker!

Saffron Barker has been confirmed as the fourth Strictly Come Dancing 2019 contestant.

The 17th series of Strictly will return in the autumn on BBC One putting the sparkle back into Saturday and Sunday nights.

19-year-old Saffron Barker is a social media star who has over four million followers across her combined social channels and averaging 15 million views a month on her YouTube channels. In 2017 Saffron’s book ‘Saffron Barker Vs Real Life’ reached number one on the Sunday Times bestsellers list and her popularity has also gained her three successful homeware ranges with Primark.

Saffron said: “I am really excited to go on the Strictly journey and am feeling very grateful for the opportunity!

“I’m looking forward to learning all of the dances, finding out who my partner is, getting to wear the costumes and to just experience this once in a lifetime opportunity.”

The news was revealed this morning (Thursday 1st August) on Heart Radio’s Breakfast Show.

Saffron is the fourth confirmed celebrity for Strictly Come Dancing 2019.

The first three celebrities were confirmed on Wednesday night.

They were revealed to be England international goalkeeper David James, comedian Chris Ramsey and EastEnders Emma Barton.

More celebs will be revealed over the coming days.

Rumoured Strictly Come Dancing 2019 celebrity contestants include Blue Peter presenter Radzi Chinyanganya, BBC sports presenter Mike Bushell, TV legend Anneka Rice, Made In Chelsea’s Jamie Laing and Radio 1 DJ Dev Griffin.

More potential celebrity contestants are footballer Alex Scott, soap actress Catherine Tyldesley, plus RuPaul’s Drag Race judge Michelle Visage, Olympic rower James Cracknell, Happy Mondays performer Bez, model Vogue Williams and football manager Sam Allardyce.

Meanwhile, the line up of Strictly Come Dancing 2019 pros were announced earlier this year.

They include new dancer Nancy Xu alongside AJ Pritchard, Aljaž Škorjanec, Amy Dowden, Anton du Beke, Dianne Buswell, Giovanni Pernice, Gorka Marquez, Graziano Di Prima, Janette Manrara, Johannes Radebe, Karen Hauer, Katya Jones, Kevin Clifton, Luba Mushtuk, Nadiya Bychkova, Neil Jones and Oti Mabuse.

Strictly Come Dancing will start in September on BBC One.
