MTV is reportedly planning a new series of Ex On The Beach after cancelling the last season.

MTV took the decision to drop the show following the tragic death of Mike Thalassitis.

Love Island star Mike died earlier in 2019, aged just 26.

Before his shock death, he had filmed for the latest series of Ex On The Beach which was due to air this year.

"We were very sad to hear the tragic news about Mike Thalassitis and our thoughts are with his family and friends," MTV said in a statement at the time. "Last year, Mike took part in filming for the next series of Ex on the Beach, which was due to air on MTV later in the year.

"In light of the news of Mike’s death, we have decided not to broadcast the planned tenth season of the show."

Now The Sun newspaper report that a brand new series of Ex On The Beach is in the works.

"It looked like the show might have been over for good when it didn’t come back, but that isn’t the case," a source shared with the tabloid.

They added: “Bosses still believe in the format and they’re going to try to learn the same lessons as Love Island.

“They definitely don’t feel it’s over yet, even though some fans might question the decision.”

There have currently been nine series of Ex On The Beach, which first made its debut on UK TV in 2014.

The show takes single men and women looking for love and jets them out of the country for a sunny holiday getaway. However, they are joined by their exes to shake things up.

Narrated by Irish comedian Andrew Maxwel, the show sees the exes make surprise appearances either in the hopes of rekindling their love or in a bid to get closure on their former relationship.
