Great British Bake Off 2019 is returning to Channel 4 but when is it back on TV and who are the judges and hosts?

Here we round up all the latest news about the Great British Bake Off 2019 on Channel 4 this year.

It’ll be the tenth series of Bake Off overall and the fourth to air on Channel 4.

Great British Bake Off start date

The air date for the Great British Bake Off 2019 has now been confirmed for Tuesday, August 27.

The series will air at 8PM, running for 90 minutes.

You’ll be able to watch on Channel 4 on TV as well as online via the All4 Player.

Alongside the main show, Jo Brand and Tom Allen will be back with spin-off show An Extra Slice.

Great British Bake Off 2019 judges and hosts

Restaurateur, food writer and novelist Prue Leith will once again be joining Paul Hollywood as judge of The Great British Bake Off when it returns to screens this year.

It’ll be their third year together on the show since the series moved from BBC One in 2017.

Meanwhile, GBBO hosts Sandi Toksvig OBE and Noel Fielding will also be back to join judges Prue Leith and Paul Hollywood.

Sandi Toksvig OBE said: “It is an extraordinary honour to be part of this national treasure of a show. Noel Fielding is one of the nicest guys in show business. The first time I met him I felt like I had met a rather wayward cousin whose take on the world made me laugh. The only down side is that he has much better dress sense that I do.”

Noel Fielding added: “GBBO is one of my favourite shows. I’ve always loved brightly coloured cakes and Sandi Toksvig so this is a dream come true for me!”

Bake Off to air until 2021

Ahead of the new series, Channel 4 has confirmed it will continue to host Bake Off until at least 2021.

Channel 4 and programme makers Love Productions have confirmed a new two series agreement for The Great British Bake Off.

In addition, it’s also been announced that for the first time Junior Bake Off – a new 15-part spin off to the main show – will be broadcast on Channel 4.

Three new series will be made by Love Productions – the first will air on Channel 4 later in 2019.
