The Voice Kids UK is airing Saturday nights, and this evening (July 6) was the start of the battles.

Coaches Pixie Lott, Danny Jones, Jessie J, Will.i.am returned tonight fresh from the blind auditions with their teams of twelve talented singers.

Presented by Emma Willis, the new series is open to talented young soloists and duos between the ages of seven and 14.

Tonight saw the first half of the battle rounds of The Voice Kids 2019.

In a difference to the main show, in The Voice Kids the battles are a THREE way competition for just one place in the semi-finals.

There are also no steals on The Voice Kids – meaning no second chances for the coaches who must pick just one winner from each three way battle in their team.

In tonight’s first half of the battles, we saw two battles from each of Teams Jessie and Pixie and two from each of Teams Will and Danny and here’s who won…

Team Will

Raphael, Rosa, The Mack Man

Opening tonight’s battles, Raphael, Rosa and The Mack Man went head to head with Do Your Thing by Basement Jaxx. Making the tough decision between the trio, coach Will put Raphael through to the semi-finals.

Jazzy B, Keira, Connie

Jazzy B, Keira and Connie were over the moon to find out they’d be performing Rewrite The Stars from The Greatest Showman – a favourite song of all three. The showstopping performance left Jessie J with a tough task picking a winner, eventually naming Keira as the one going through.

Team Pixie

Caillin Joe, Gracie-Jayne, Colin

First to do battle on Team Pixie were Caillin Joe, Gracie-Jayne and Colin, singing Let’s Face The Music and Dance by Irving Berlin. There were a lot of tears as Pixie named Gracie-Jayne as the winner of the battles.
