Stavros Flatley made a surprise return to Britain’s Got Talent tonight in a cameo appearance during 4MG’s semi-final performance.

Tonight’s second live show saw the four-piece magic act relive BGT history for their latest epic stunt.

Judge Amanda Holden was asked to cut a pack of flash cards, each emblazoned with a different word.

She took the top three cards from the point she cut at, and slid one to Alesha Dixon, without looking at what they said.

Simon Cowell was then presented with a jar containing 100 balls, each labelled with a different number.

He pulled one ball out at random, and when offered the chance to swap it, he declined.

The Syco boss had the number seven, which corresponded with Stavros Flatley on a pre-written list of former Britain’s Got Talent contestants.

One of the teenage tricksters asked Amanda and Alesha to view their cards for the first time, and read their minds to find out which words they said.

He wrote ‘soft’, ‘star’ and ‘valley’ on a whiteboard, which were the exact words they had.

4MG then pointed out that these words are a perfect anagram of Stavros Flatley – and the Greek dancers promptly burst out on stage, throwing their wigs to the judges.

Amanda was thrilled to see the special guests. “You know I’m a huge fan of Stavros Flatley!” she exclaimed.

“Boys, you really smashed it out of the park tonight. I am filled with wonder, I am filled with awe. I love how you do it, you really style it out, you’re very casual.”

However, Simon had some advice for the group, despite saying they had improved on their audition.

“Going forward, you’ve got to be a little bit more loose and have a sense of humour, rather than everything sounds rehearsed,” he claimed.

“There’s not another act out there like that. You’re young guys, you should have fun. I thought the ending really worked for you.”

4MG are now waiting to find out whether they’ll be voted through to the grand final.

The Britain’s Got Talent results show airs on ITV at 9.30pm.
