Tonight saw the latest episode of auditions from the new series.

Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon, David Walliams and Simon Cowell return to the panel while Ant and Dec are back watching on from the sidelines.

As always, acts needed three or more yeses to get through to the next round, and potentially make the live shows.

One of the acts we met was Kojo Anim, a stand-up comedian from London – and a pal of BGT judge Alesha.

The newly engaged performer said his fiancée encouraged him to audition after years grafting on the stand up circuit.

Kojo performed a comedy set for the judges in a bid to “make the world laugh”.

He ended his routine with all four judges standing on their feet.

David praised: “You’re brilliantly likeable, I think you did yourself really proud today.”

Simon then said: “I don’t really like comedians on this show… but I loved you!” before hitting the golden buzzer.

Kojo was floored – quite literally – by the buzzer as he lay on stage while golden confetti rained down.

Simon added: “You have the most amazing energy, this is the break you’ve been waiting for. Enjoy this!”

Kojo is the second golden buzzer act this year, following Flakefleet Primary School who won over David Walliams last week.

Britain’s Got Talent 2019 continues next Saturday night on ITV with the latest auditions.

Other contestants on this week’s show included 12-year-old Kerr James who took to the stage to sing Try a Little Tenderness by Otis Redding. “He just becomes someone else!” react Ant & Dec from the sidelines to the youngster’s smooth singing.

Mysterious act X freaked out Ant and Dec as he got them involved in a mind reading magic trick while Jonathan Goodwin shocked in a very different way, freeing himself from a straightjacket while on fire.
