The professional dancer is sure that the supposed ‘Strictly curse’ won’t impact her, thanks to her husband.

During an appearance on ITV’s Loose Women this week, Oti revealed just how her other half deals with her celebrity partners.

She said: “He is a very macho man, has a deep voice and a European accent and he goes, ‘Don’t touch my wife unless you have to. Unless you really have to, don’t do it,’ and then he gives then a really firm handshake.

“I’m like, ‘I see what you’re doing’.”

“I don’t even stop him,” she added.

Oti then recalled: “I remember when he met Graeme [Swann], and Graeme is one of my best friends now, but he knew nothing about me.

“He came with a big bouquet of flowers and said, ‘Oti, I am so excited for our journey, and out of nowhere my husband came in, took the whole bouquet out and said, ‘She’s allergic to flowers’.

“It works for him, but I never got flowers again!”

Meanwhile, Oti opened up on battling nerves on Strictly Come Dancing despite her years of experience as a dancer.

She said: “I get so nervous on Strictly. I think with that the thing is you are physically dancing with someone and they’ve never danced before and you never know what mistakes are going to happen.

“Most of the time we are mic’d up but we’re talking to them while we’re smiling.

“So they never know [the mistakes] until Sunday which is not really helpful for us.”

The Strictly professionals on 2019’s line up were confirmed at the start of this month (March).

Alongside Oti, this year’s women on the Strictly pro cast are Amy Dowden, Dianne Buswell, Janette Manrara, Karen Clifton, Katya Jones, Luba Mushtuk and Nadiya Bychkova.
