The Great British Bake Off will continue on Channel 4 until at least 2021.

Channel 4 and programme makers Love Productions have confirmed a new two series agreement for The Great British Bake Off.

The tenth series of Bake Off will be broadcast on Channel 4 later this year, with a further two series now confirmed to follow.

In addition, it’s also been announced that for the first time Junior Bake Off – a new 15-part spin off to the main show – will be broadcast on Channel 4. Three new series will be made by Love Productions – the first will air on Channel 4 later in 2019.

Ian Katz, Channel 4 Director of Programmes said: “Over the last two years The Great British Bake Off has become one of the best loved programmes on Channel 4, embodying the warmth, mischief and inclusivity for which the channel is known.

“We’re delighted to be continuing our fantastically collaborative partnership with Love Productions and especially to be discovering a new generation of British baking talent with Junior Bake Off.”

Richard McKerrow, Chief Executive Love Productions added: “We are delighted to have extended Bake Off’s stay on Channel 4 after two great years together.

“We have been hugely encouraged by the audience response and feedback the show has received during its time on Channel 4 and are thrilled to be bringing Junior Bake Off to the Channel.

“It seems particularly appropriate to be announcing news of the extension on Channel 4 as we enjoy Bake Off’s tenth anniversary on British television.”

The multi-award winning hit show first aired on Channel 4 in 2017, moving from BBC One after originally beginning on BBC Two.

The eighth series of The Great British Bake Off was the biggest Channel 4 series in over six years, averaging 9 million viewers.

Great British Bake Off typically launches in August on Channel 4.

Currently, a number of celebrity specials are airing in support of Stand Up To Cancer.

Comedian Johnny Vegas, grime artist Big Narstie, Olympian Katarina Johnson-Thompson, and Labour MP Jess Phillips will take part in the latest episode, airing Tuesdays at 8PM on Channel 4.
