Gemma took part in this year’s series, leaving after six weeks.

Now her partner and fellow TOWIE star Arg could be following in her skates.

2018 Dancing On Ice contestant and this year’s digital reporter Kem Cetinay revealed on ITV’s This Morning: “I was catching up with Arg as well and I know everyone’s been wondering ‘is he going to do it [next year?]’”

“Well, he was on the rink last week. He was doing a bit of skating to see how he got on.”

He then added: “I don’t know if it was just training, or who knows. But I caught up with him as well, and this is what he said about the speculation.”

Arg told the cameras: “I haven’t signed up, just yet. But.. I think there’s a very good chance you’ll be seeing me on the ice next year.”

This Morning and Dancing On Ice co-host Holly Willoughby commented: “Oh, my goodness me. We would love that! I think it’s a brilliant idea. He should definitely do it.”

Holly and Phillip Schofield announced that Dancing On Ice would be back next year in Sunday’s final.

Dancing On Ice originally ran between 2006 and 2014, hosted by Philip, Holly and later Christine Bleakley.

After a four-year break, the show returned in 2018 to big ratings that were matched by this year’s series.

So it’s no surprise to learn that a brand new celebrity cast will be taking to the ice next year.

It’s not yet been confirmed if current Dancing On Ice judges Jayne Torvill, Christopher Dean, Jason Gardiner and Ashley Banjo – or hosts Holly & Phil – will be back.

This year’s Dancing On Ice final saw former Strictly Come Dancing pro James Jordan crowned Dancing On Ice 2019 winner, beating Love Island’s Wes Nelson and singer Saara Aalto in the final.

He joins fellow Dancing On Ice winners Gaynor Faye, Kyran Bracken, Suzanne Shaw, Ray Quinn, Hayley Tamaddon, Sam Attwater, Matthew Wolfenden, Beth Tweddle, Ray Quinn and Jake Quickenden.

Dancing On Ice airs on ITV. The show typically airs January-March.
