Currently four celebs are left in the all star ice skating contest.

Those left in the competition are X Factor star Saara Aalto & her pro partner Hamish, singer Brian McFadden & pro skater Alex Murphy, Love Island’s Wes Nelson & his pro partner Vanessa Bauer and former Strictly Come Dancing dancer James Jordan & his pro partner Alexandra Schauman.

In the semi-final, each celebrity will skate two routines with one performed to a song that means something to them.

Wes will be skating to ‘Never Too Much’ by Luther Vandross.

Explaining the song choice in a VT to air in Sunday’s show, he says: “It’s my parents wedding song. My mum and dad genuinely mean the absolute world to me. I can’t even thank them enough for how much they’ve done for me. It’s a big thank you to them really. I think my mum and dad completely personify the word ‘love.'”

Wes goes on to discuss his recent break up with Megan Barton Hanson, saying: “Of course I’ve experienced love but I’d love to love like my parents do. Me and Megs we had a really, really good bond and it makes me upset now to talk about it but it isn’t great, and it was really, really difficult at the time.”

Dancing On Ice’s Associate Creative Director Dan Whiston previously said that there would be a number of emotional moments in the semi-final.

“It’s been really lovely to hear people’s stories this week,” he said. “I think a lot of people will be touched by the stories that come this weekend.”

Speaking to The Sun newspaper, former Dancing On Ice pro Dan revealed that there had been tears in rehearsals.

“You develop a closeness to all of the couples and it has been emotional,” he said. “To get to this point is emotional in itself, and then you bring in the back stories to people’s lives.

“It’s been really touching and I do expect some tears… Definitely expect some tears because everyone is so invested.”
