With a place in the grand final up for grabs, this week the final four contestants have a brand new challenge.

They’ll be performing two completely new routines each with their pro partners, which will both be marked by the judges.

And this week, the judges’ challenge will require the celebs to perform a solo skate without any assistance from the professional skaters.

Meanwhile, one of their two routines will be extra special.

Dancing On Ice’s Associate Creative Director Dan Whiston, teased that the celebs will each be performing a routine that is “about something that touches them and has meant something to them in their life.”

“An emotional song, a song that has meaning to them and their story – they have been very involved in the creative with myself and our team,” he explained. “It’s been really lovely to hear people’s stories this week.

“I think a lot of people will be touched by the stories that come this weekend.”

Speaking to The Sun newspaper, former Dancing On Ice pro Dan revealed that there had been tears in rehearsals.

“You develop a closeness to all of the couples and it has been emotional,” he said. “To get to this point is emotional in itself, and then you bring in the back stories to people’s lives.

“It’s been really touching and I do expect some tears… Definitely expect some tears because everyone is so invested.”

Currently just the four celebs remain on the current Dancing On Ice 2019 cast after eight weeks of competition.

Following each of the celeb’s latest live performances, it was Pussycat Doll Melody Thornton who was voted off Dancing On Ice last week.

Melody and pro skater Alexander Demetriou faced the skate off against X Factor’s Saara Aalto & her pro partner Hamish Gaman.

In the skate off, judges Jayne Torvill, Christopher Dean, Jason Gardiner and Ashley Banjo all decided to keep Saara over Melody.

Alongside Saara & pro partner Hamish, those left on the line up are singer Brian McFadden & pro skater Alex Murphy, Love Island’s Wes Nelson & his pro partner Vanessa Bauer and former Strictly Come Dancing dancer James Jordan & his pro partner Alexandra Schauman.
