James Jordan has dropped his pro partner in training for Dancing On Ice 2019 this weekend.

Professional skater Alexandra Schauman was checked over by medics this week after falling while practising a lift with James.

Dropping his partner, James said, was one of his biggest fears.

Pictures from training see James and Alex rehearsing their lift, which sees her hanging upside down holding onto his legs.

But with James seemingly struggling to balance, Alex ends up hitting her head on the ice.

She's quickly seen by medics who give her the all clear as a devastated James watches on.

The pair are set to dance to a 'top secret' song when Dancing on Ice airs Sunday, 6pm on ITV.

This week, the five remaining celebrities will be travelling through time and hoping to deliver their most exciting routines yet.

As well as facing their next Judges’ Challenge, they’ll also compete in a special group performance. Skating legends Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean lead the judging panel alongside expert choreographer Jason Gardiner and dance supremo Ashley Banjo.

So far James and Alex have sailed through every week without facing the skate off.

James took to Twitter after last week's double elimination to thank fans for their support.

He wrote: "Just wanna say a quick thank you to all of you for the amazing support And to all those that take the time to post messages you n here. It keeps me going 😘 And again to my amazing partner @AlexandraLukasz 🙏 Now I’m off to bed.... knackered 🤪"

Alongside James & Alex, those left on the Dancing On Ice line up include singer Brian McFadden & pro skater Alex Murphy and X Factor's Saara Aalto & Hamish Gaman.

They're joined by Pussycat Doll Melody Thornton & her pro skater Alexander Demetriou, and Love Island's Wes Nelson & his pro partner Vanessa Bauer.

Last weekend saw soap star Jane Danson and cricketer Ryan Sidebottom leave the competition in a double exit.

Dancing On Ice 2019 continues this Sunday night at 6PM on ITV.
