Gavin Henson quits rugby to focus on Channel 5's 'The Bachelor'

Gavin Henson The Bachelor

Welsh rugby hunk Gavin Henson has quit the sport, abandoned his teammates in order to focus on new Channel 5 show 'The Bachelor'. The series, which follows the similar US format, will see 20 girls fight for single Gavin's affections by taking part in a number of dates and tasks.

29-year-old Gavin flew out to film for the show in St Lucia, leaving his team behind to train while he surrounded himself with bikini-clad ladies fighting over him!

According to The Sun, Welsh rugby coach Warren Gatland gave him permission to go, but his teammates weren't happy!

A source told the tabloid: "The lads couldn't believe it. They're stuck there all week getting ten bells knocked out of them morning, noon and night - and Gav's on a beach in the Caribbean with women throwing themselves at him.

"He sent a picture of himself lying on the beach, saying, 'Hope you're enjoying yourselves boys'. What a cheeky b******!"

The Bachelor starts on Channel 5 later this year.
