The Voice 2019 RECAP! All of the blind auditions from week six

The Voice UK 2019 hit our screens again tonight for the sixth round of blind auditions on ITV.

Global music legends will.i.am, Jennifer Hudson, Sir Tom Jones and Olly Murs are this year’s coaches and on the search for the best vocal talent that Britain has to offer.

Up for grabs is a record deal with Polydor Records but to be in with a chance contestants must first win a spot on one of the four teams.

And as the blind auditions draw to a close, that’s getting incredibly difficult.

Each of the coaches is looking to build teams of ten acts for the battle rounds and the numbers of available spots have been falling each week.

Ahead of tonight’s show, Teams Olly and Jennifer both had only two free places while Teams Tom and Will were each after three more acts.

As always, the first stage is the blind auditions where the contestants have 90 seconds to impress the coaches with their voices alone.

Sat with their backs to the contestants, if the coaches like what they hear, they hit their buzzer to spin around and select that artist for their teams. If more than one coach spins then it’s up to the act to pick which team to join.

Here’s how the six round of blind auditions played out tonight…

Nyema Kalfon

22-year-old Nyema Kalfon from Winchester opened tonight’s blind auditions episode. She performed ‘Answerphone’ by Banx & Ranx and Ella Eyre for the panel and got both Sir Tom and Will.i.am fighting for her, ultimately opting to join Team Will and become his eighth contestant.

 

Gabriel Dryss

16-year-old student Gabriel Dryss from London has been getting singing tips via Skype from his grandad in France. Putting all the advice into practice tonight, the teenager performed a cover of ‘Treasure’ by Bruno Mars that won him a spot on Team Will after he become the only coach to turn around.

 

Claire McCulloch

34-year-old Claire McCulloch is a proud paramedic from Dundee. Claire performed ‘Hard to Handle’ by Otis Redding for her blind audition but sadly didn’t get any coaches to turn for her.

 

Gisela Green

27-year-old Gisela Green is a singing midwife from London. Gisela’s blind audition – singing ‘Best Part’ by Daniel Caesar – got nearly a full house of turns with only Sir Tom Jones holding out. With Jennifer, Olly and Will to choose from, she went with Team JHUD.

 

Stephanie Hill

24-year-old Stephanie Hill from Peak District’s day job sees her researching treatments to prevent and cure cancer. Swapping the lab-coat for a microphone, Stephanie brought some musical theatre to the stage as she performed ‘I Could Have Danced All Night’ from My Fair Lady but it wasn’t to the coaches liking, getting no turns.

 

Georgia Bray

At the moment, 21-year-old Georgia Bray from Cannock works for her dad’s business. Wanting to make it as a popstar, Georgia performed ‘Firework’ by Katy Perry to entice Olly to spin around, joining his team.

 

Jack Hawitt

29-year-old Jack Hawitt from Barrow-in-Furness currently works as a singing waiter. Hoping to swap serving drinks for spinning chairs, Jack performed ‘Diamonds’ by Rihanna at this week’s blind auditions but unfortunately the performance didn’t secure any turns.

 

Kenza Blanka

34-year-old Kenza Blanka from London was tonight’s penultimate performer. With the teams close to full, it was unfortunately another no-turner as Kenda performed ‘Papaoutai’ by Stromae before leaving the stage without seeing the coaches.

 

Deana

Closing the show this weekend was 23-year-old Deana from Liverpool. Deana performed her own take on ‘Back to Black’ by Amy Winehouse getting all of Olly, Sir Tom and will.i.am to turn. After a mega pitch battle, Deana chose to join Team Tom.
