Dancing On Ice aired its latest live episode on Sunday, featuring the then remaining nine skaters.

At the end of each routine the judges – Jayne Torvill, Christopher Dean, Jason Gardiner and Ashley Banjo – gave their comments and marks out of 10 before viewers could vote for their favourite.

The judges scores were then combined with the viewer’s votes before the bottom two couples were revealed as Loose Women star Saira Khan and cricketer Ryan Sidebottom.

The judging panel chose who to save and who to send home, and it was Saira who left Dancing On Ice this week. All four judges, including the week’s head judge Jayne, saved Ryan.

Reacting to her elimination on ITV’s Loose Women, Saira said: “I’m going to be really honest, I am really gutted. I genuinely am really gutted.”

She told her fellow panellists: “Mark [Hanretty, Saira’s pro skater] was just taking me to that next stage. And it was Fairytale Week this week so we didn’t want to do loads of dancing away from each other. It’s Cinderella, it’s Prince Charming, we wanted to tell a story about being lifted up in the air and in love.

“All Mark wanted to do was make me look so elegant and pretty, that was Cinderella! I was living a childhood dream of dancing. I was gutted when it ended. You [Mark] were bringing such emotion out of me.”

Although she scored the lowest points on the night, Gemma Collins made it through and avoided the skate off entirely.

However, Saira wasn’t as angry at the outcome as some viewers were.

She revealed: “Well yesterday, I’ve got to give credit where credit’s due. She came to me and said, ‘I should have been in the skate-off, not you.’

“She did say that so she knows it, but it’s a TV show, it’s entertainment and people are keeping her in because whatever you think about her, I want to watch her on the ice.

“It’s TV vs. a skating show.”

Dancing On Ice 2019 continues Sunday nights on ITV at 6PM.
