Wes Nelson has become the red hot favourite to win Dancing On Ice 2019.

The Love Islander is the tip for the Dancing On Ice crown despite falling short of topping the leaderboard in the latest live show.

Wes, who recently split from Love Island girlfriend Megan Barton Hanson, has been the top pick with bookmakers BoyleSports punters after he scored an impressive 34 points for his routine on Sunday which saw him backed into 10/11 favouritism from 11/8.

James Jordan may be scoring high each week and continuing to receive high praise from the judges, but punters have gone off the former Strictly Come Dancing professional and he remains priced at 13/8 as Wes moves closer to the title.

There’s little competition elsewhere according to the betting with Pussycat Doll Melody Thornton third in line for the crown but at much larger odds having drifted out to 7/1 from 6/1. Saara Alto is next at the even larger price of 12/1.

Aoife Heffron, Spokesperson for BoyleSports commented: “It’s Wes’ to lose at this point; punters aren’t paying any heed to the leaderboard and have chosen Wes as their almost unstoppable favourite after his odds were slashed to 10/11 from 11/8.

"We have seen next to nothing coming in for James after the week 5 performances, seeing him remain unchanged at 13/8.”
