In four weeks of auditions, The Greatest Dancer saw dancers aged 7 and up, perform any dance style in The Greatest Dancer studio in their bid to impress the audience. If 75 per cent of the audience voted, the mirror opened, sending them through to the callbacks.

Last weekend we saw Cheryl and fellow Dance Captains Matthew Morrison and Oti Mabuse picking three acts each at the callbacks to take through to the live shows.

And speaking ahead of this Saturday’s first live talent show, Cheryl has revealed how the trio fought hard for the best contestants.

“I love Oti. But she is way more competitive than me,” Cheryl said. “She was the one stealing acts off of the table and hiding them from us.

“The thing is, she is so cute she gets away with it.”

Speaking to The Sun newspaper, Cheryl added: “Me and Matthew loved more of the same people and fought it out more to be honest.”

Meanwhile, Cheryl told the tabloid that she was hoping to work with many of The Greatest Dancer contestants in her music career.

“I would use so many of the people we have seen in my performances, shows and videos, definitely,” she explained. “And not just the ones that made it to the live stages but also people who didn’t. There are so many talented people we’ve seen that have a lot to offer.”

The live shows will see each of the dancers take on a challenge with their Dance Captain to create an unforgettable performance.

For the first time the power is in the hands of the viewers at home as they vote to decide who stays in the competition each week and who will become The Greatest Dancer.

Then in the Live Grand Final, the remaining acts will all perform before the voting lines open once again as viewers at home get to choose who they want to be named The Greatest Dancer, win £50,000 and perform as a very special guest on Strictly Come Dancing.

The Greatest Dancer live shows start this Saturday 7.30PM BBC One.
