Britain’s Got Talent 2019 judges ‘wowed by choir made up of war veterans’

A choir made up of war veterans are said to have wowed the Britain’s Got Talent 2019 judges at this year’s auditions.

The new series of BGT has been filming try outs at the London Palladium this month with Simon Cowell, David Walliams, Alesha Dixon and Amanda Holden.

Ant and Dec have reunited to host the upcoming season, which will be the thirteenth to air on UK TV.

One of the acts reported to have impressed already are a group called Soldier On, made up of Iraq war veterans.

The Sun reports that the choir, from the Soldiers’ Arts Academy, performed an original ballad about overcoming adversity.

“There wasn’t a dry eye in the house and Simon was especially moved by the performance,” a source told the newspaper. “Producers are hoping the public get behind them and the message chimes with audiences.

“They have so many personal stories to tell and every member of the choir is hoping they can get them out there.”

Britain’s Got Talent 2019 will air on TV later this year, with the show typically starting in April.

Other contestants who have gone before the judges are rumoured to include singer Leanne Mya, who reportedly brought the judges to tears with her audition.

Leanne stunned the theatre when she took to the stage and revealed she’d “survived Grenfell”. Simon is quoted as telling her: “You should be very proud…. For everyone who lost their lives and had all this crap thrown at them, you’ve had the courage to come out here and pay tribute. You did something very special for them and for you.”

Meanwhile, Simon Simon faced a knife thrower that saw him get up on stage and risk his life.

“OK, so that was the scariest thing ever. I now realise how hard it is!” Simon confessed after the audition.
