Ryan Sidebottom has been ruled out of this weekend's Dancing On Ice 2019 live show due to injury.

The cricketer will NOT skate in Sunday's live show and will automatically go through to next weekend.

"Ryan Sidebottom has been ruled out of performing in tomorrow night’s show (Sunday 27th January) on medical grounds as a result of a Grade I adductor strain," a spokesperson for the show said in a statement. "As a result he will receive a bye to next weekend’s show."

They added: "Everyone at the show wishes him a speedy recovery."

Ryan himself said in a statement: "Me and Brandee are of course very gutted not to be able to perform this weekend, but I’m focusing on getting back on the ice as quickly as I can. I want to thank everyone who has championed us so far, the support has been overwhelming.

"I’m also extremely grateful for all the support from my fellow contestants and I can’t wait to watch them all perform tomorrow night in the studio. I’ll be cheering them on!!"

Dancing On Ice 2019 airs between 6PM and 8PM Sunday evening, January 26, on ITV.

With Ryan out, the nine celebrity skaters taking part will be Coronation Street actress Jane Danson, Loose Women’s Saira Khan, X Factor favourite Saara Aaalto, Grease legend Didi Conn and reality star Gemma Collins.

Completing this year's line up are Pussycat Doll Melody Thornton, Love Island’s Wes Nelson, Strictly Come Dancing dancer James Jordan and singer and presenter Brian McFadden.

They'll all perform a brand new skate on Sunday night, which must include the latest judges' challenge element.

But some are going all out, with Melody set to be the first of this year's celebs to attempt the headbanger in what will be only her third skate.

As always, at the end of each routine judges Jason Gardiner, Ashley Banjo, Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean will award their marks and scores out of 10 before viewers can vote for their favourite.

Once the judges scores have been combined with the viewer's votes, the bottom two couples will be revealed who will face the third skate off of the series live on Sunday.

Both couples will skate again before the judging panel will choose who to save and who to send home. This week Chris will be head judge and have the deciding vote on who stays and who goes.
