Jennifer Hudson, Olly Murs, Will.i.am and Sir Tom Jones are all back as coaches for this year’s show.

The Voice 2019 will begin this weekend on Saturday, January 5 at 8PM on ITV.

And in a first look at the upcoming season, the four piece belt out a group song to open the first episode.

The new series of The Voice UK begins with a spectacular Coaches Performance of the Eurythmics hit Sweet Dreams.

Speaking about the song choice, Sir Tom Jones said: “I’ve always loved the record. The Eurythmics made great records. It’s a great message – ‘sweet dreams are made of this.’

“It’s all perfect for this competition.”

As always, The Voice UK will begin its search for vocal talent with the blind auditions.

The four coaches will be seeking the very best solo singers, duos and, in a competition first this year, trios.

Olly said: “Feels great to be back. Same team and I really feel part of it now. Even though last year everyone made me feel so welcome, when you come back a second year it’s nice. Everyone’s on top form and we’re all getting on really well.”

Speaking about the new trio element, Jennifer added: “It makes the Blinds that much more fun and exciting and interesting. When you hear one voice you think ‘hmm…I wonder if they’re older or younger, I wonder if it’s a male or a female’ kind of thing but now that we have trios it’s like ‘is there one voice, two or three?! Who is singing what?’

“Again it makes it that much more exciting and more to look forward to because there’s more to figure out. It’s like a little journey…”

The Voice UK, ITV, 8pm on Saturday 5th January with Emma Willis returning as host.
