The Dancing On Ice rink is struggling to stay frozen

Dancing On Ice bosses have found themselves battling a bizarre problem.

After an original revival in 2018, Dancing On Ice will be back for a brand new series next month (January).

The show will once again be filmed in a special studio in Bovingdon, Hertfordshire with a custom made ice rink for the celebs to perform on.

But warmer than usual winter temperatures have left producers battling to keep the rink frozen.

Bosses have reportedly splashed the cash on extra insulation in a bid to stop the melt.

A source shared to The Sun newspaper: “They already have three chillers powered on generators to keep the ice cold, but the studio seems to be too warm to keep everything frozen.

They have been installing insulation so the temperature doesn’t rise any more. It’s very hard to get it right — a few degrees out and puddles can begin to appear.”

ITV previously revealed that Dancing On Ice will begin Sunday 6 January at 6pm on ITV.

The series typically runs until March, so there could well be further problems ahead once winter is over.

Meanwhile, the cast of celebrities on the Dancing On Ice 2019 line up has been officially announced.

Reality favourite Gemma Collins and Grease star Didi Conn are among the twelve famous faces joining the eleventh series.

Soap stars Jane Danson, Richard Blackwood and Mark Little, ex-Strictly star James Jordan, cricketer Ryan Sidebottom and TV host Saira Khan will take to the ice.

Westlife’s Brian McFadden, Love Island’s Wes Nelson, singer Saara Aalto and Pussycat Doll Melody Thornton complete the line-up.

Producers recently also revealed which professional dancers will partner the celebs.

They’ve been in training for around three months now ahead of their first live performance.

As always, they’ll be marked by the ice panel – once again headed up by Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean.
