I’m A Celebrity has recorded the best viewing figures ever for an opening week.

The first week of consolidated TV ratings in for I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here! have been revealed and they show big numbers.

The current series, hosted by Declan Donnelly and guest co-host Holly Willoughby, is averaging a huge 12.6 million viewers/ a 47% share of viewing.

It’s the highest consolidated average EVER for the show, at this point in the series and up an average of almost 2 million viewers on the equivalent episodes to last year’s series.

When online catch up is also factored in, the series average increases to more than 13 million viewers.

Needless to say, worries that the show may not cope without its regular co-host Ant McPartlin have been quelled.

The series continues nightly on ITV with vote-offs each evening leading up until the final on Sunday.

A third contestant was sent home in last night’s latest I’m A Celebrity results.

Yesterday evening saw the next vote off and all of the remaining campers faced the public poll, following John Barrowman’s return to camp.

He had missed Sunday night’s elimination after being taken to hospital having suffered a fall but was back on Monday – with a cane and his ankle in an orthopaedic boot.

It was Sair Khan who became the unlucky celeb to leave, following Malique Thompson-Dwyer’s departure in Sunday night’s show.

The first vote-off on Friday saw Noel Edmonds eliminated in a shock result.

The current eight contestants left on the show include John, TV presenter Nick Knowles, popstar James McVey, football manager Harry Redknapp and actor Rita Simons.

Joining them are TV’s ‘The Governess’ Anne Hegerty, comedy actor Emily Atack and singer Fleur East.

I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! continues nightly on ITV at 9PM. Spin-off Extra Camp airs on ITV2 straight after the main show.
