Noel Edmonds clawed back some much-needed points for the Underdogs as the I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! Immunity Games continued with a gymnasium challenge.
The ITV show’s contestants have split in to four teams as they battle to win immunity from the first public vote.
In addition, the team at the top of the leaderboard at the end of each day gets to eat a full dinner, as the others make do with rice and beans.
Following Emily Atack’s victory at the boating lake event, the rival sides each had to nominate a member for the next event in the Games.
Sair Khan played for Team Galahs, Anne Hegerty for Team Koalas, and Fleur East for Team Roos.
Meanwhile, Noel represented the Underdogs, a duo he formed with Rita Simons after the other teams declined to choose them.
The foursome arrived at a jungle gym, where the Deal or No Deal host read their instructions.
“In front of you are four sets of gym rings – one set for each team,” he said. “Each celebrity must pull down on their rings and maintain their position for as long as possible.
“Once the celebrity has released both rings they will be out of the event. The celebrity who maintains their position the longest will win three points for their team.”
“This is going to be the longest gym session of my life,” remarked Fleur as she got in position.
The campers tryed to psych each other out, while Anne distracted herself by revising the American presidents.
Moments later, they got a shock when they were sprayed with freezing cold water.
Sair accidentally let go of one of her hoops, and Anne decided she’d had enough and gave up, meaning she earned no points for the Koalas.
Eventually, a klaxon sounded, indicating that the event would go to a tie-breaker.
The three remaining challengers had to guess how long they’d lasted holding the rings – the correct answer being one hour, seven minutes and six seconds.
Noel’s answer of one hour, one minute and ten seconds was closest, and he was declared winner, earning the three points.
It was a much-needed victory for the Underdogs, as Rita failed to score in the previous event.
Fleur was second, scoring two points, and Sair was third, scoring one point.
Therefore, after the first day of Immunity Games, Team Roos were top of the leaderboard on four points.
Fleur, Harry Redknapp and James McVey got to visit Snake Rock, where bosses had prepared a meal of bangers and mash with carrot juice.
However, Harry wasn’t particularly happy to find out they were emu sausages.
“My worst nightmare, not emu,” he said. “I was hoping for roast beef and Yorkshire pudding, or a lasagne or a pizza we got bl***in’ emu again!”
I’m A Celebrity 2018 airs nightly at 9.00pm on ITV, with the first elimination due to take place tomorrow.
