Nick Knowles got his first choice of teammates for the Immunity Games on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! after winning the ‘Deadly Dash’ event.

Yesterday viewers voted for Nick, Harry Redknapp and John Barrowman to face the latest challenge – but it wasn’t a Bushtucker Trial.

Instead, they became the captains of three different teams for the Immunity Games, which will see the celebs compete not just for food, but safety from the first elimination.

The trio would contest the Games’ first event, ‘Deadly Dash’, with hosts Dec Donnelly and Holly Willoughby explaining that they’d race each other to the ends of their tracks.

Along the way, they had to collect six jigsaw pieces, using their hands to reach in to hell holes and their mouths to search bobbing trays.

The first team captain to complete their puzzle would get the first choice of teammates, with runner-up getting second choice.

Harry didn’t fancy his chances, grumbling: “I’ve never done a jigsaw before. I could be here two days doing that puzzle!”

As always, there was various critters to distract them along the way, with the first hell hole containing mud crabs.

Harry raced ahead of his opponents, encountering slime and fish guts in the first bobbing tray, and water dragons in the second hell hole.

By the time he’d reached the second bobbing tray, full of cockroaches, John had caught up.

Eventually all three competitors were working on their jigsaws. Despite finishing the race last, Nick completed the puzzle first and was declared the winner.

John came second, while Harry finished third, as he suspected.

“I can’t do puzzles Holly, I’m useless,” he laughed. “A bit like a striker who gets in front of the goal and doesn’t score, that was me!”

It was then time for each captain to select two celebs to join their team.

Nick formed Team Galahs with Malique Thompson-Dwyer and Sair Khan, who had won eleven stars in the previous day’s Trial.

John chose Anne Hegerty and Emily Atack for Team Koalas, saying: “We like to have fun together.

“Anne has brains, but over the course of being in here she has opened up, so is a great team member.”

Harry then added Fleur East and James McVey to Team Roos. Although he was last to pick, he was happy with the result.

“Fleur is amazing. She taught me some dancing, I’ve got some new dances to show my wife,” he grinned.

“So you’re happy with your peng team?” asked Dec, referencing some slang Fleur taught Harry.

The presenter announced that, as Noel Edmonds and Rita Simons weren’t chosen, they’d become their own duo named Team Underdogs.

“We’re the two kids that didn’t get picked at PE,” Noel later joked in the Bush Telegraph.

“It’s okay, we have each other,” assured Rita.

Back in camp, John read a laminate, revealing that the four teams would go head-to-head to win points in the Immunity Games.

At the end of each day, the team at the top of the leaderboard would earn a full dinner, as the others ate rice and beans.

The fighting talk began as the campers changed in to their new team outfits.

“There are no friendships in the Immunity Games,” observed the Roos.

I’m A Celebrity airs nightly at 9.00pm on ITV, followed by Extra Camp on ITV2.
