Watch Strictly Come Dancing’s first ever Lindy-Hop-A-Thon

The remaining Strictly Come Dancing 2018 celebrities faced brand new challenge this weekend.

Over the years, Strictly has seen a number of special rounds: We’ve had a Waltz-a-Thon, Quickstep-a-thon, the Cha-Cha-Cha Challenge and last year’s Paso Doble-a-thon.

This year saw another new one: Lindy-Hop-A-Thon.

Everyone was hoping to impress the judges for valuable extra points, which were added to their scores for their main routines.

The remaining celebs all took to the dancefloor at the same time, dancing the Lindy Hop with their pro partners.

Lifts and tricks were fully encouraged, so long as they didn’t cause any collisions, while the couples drew numbers out of a hat to decide their starting positions.

The judges Shirley Ballas, Darcey Bussell, Bruno Tonioli and Craig Revel Horwood then ranked the pairs, with head judge Shirley having the final say.

Ashley Roberts and Pasha Kovalev finished first, scoring 7 points while Faye Tozer and Giovanni Pernice were runners up with 6 points.

Joe Sugg and Dianne Buswell ranked third, receiving 5 points. Stacey Dooley and Kevin Clifton finished fourth, scoring 4 points and Charles Venn and Karen Clifton were in fifth, scoring 3 points.

Graeme Swann and Oti Mabuse finished sixth, scoring 2 points and Lauren Steadman and AJ Pritchard were seventh, picking up just the 1 point.

The extra points were added to their scores out of 40 for their main routines.

The total points from the judges will then be combined with the results of the latest viewer vote to decide who will be in the dance off again.

Last week’s Blackpool special saw Kate Silverton become the latest celeb to leave the competition.

Those left in the competition right now are AJ Pritchard and Lauren Steadman, Dianne Buswell and Joe Sugg, Giovanni Pernice and Faye Tozer and Karen Clifton and Charles Venn.

Joining them are Kevin Clifton and Stacey Dooley, Oti Mabuse and Graeme Swann and Pasha Kovalev and Ashley Roberts.
