Craig Revel Horwood thinks the Strictly ‘curse’ is actually a blessing
Craig Revel Horwood has given his take on the so-called Strictly Come Dancing ‘curse’.
And the Strictly judge of 14 years reckons it’s more of a ‘blessing’.
He said of pro dancer Kevin Clifton’s rumoured new romance with his most recent celeb partner Stacey Dooley: “I hope they live happily ever after.
“It will be another Strictly success story. I never call it the Strictly curse, I call it the Strictly blessing. People need to fall in love.”
While the supposed curse has been blamed for the break up of a number of relationships, Craig credits it with starting a number of happy couples.
He explained previously: “Some relationships blossom. I mean who would have ever thought that anyone would want Kristina Rihanoff? But Ben Cohen did and she had a baby with him so that’s a success story.
“Then there is Pasha [Kovalev, now with former show partner Rachel Riley].
“There is Flavia [Cacace, married to contestant Jimi Mistry]. We have had some amazing bonus that has changed people’s lives.”
Speaking to The Sun newspaper, Craig added: “I call it the Strictly blessing as if you are there in that sort of parallel world and you are your own person with your own thoughts and intentions that is what is wonderful.”
Meanwhile, Craig also spoke of Seann Walsh and Kayta Jones’ kiss drama.
The pair were snapped sharing a snog on a night out during 2018’s series despite both being in relationships.
Craig said: “You have got to do the dance of shame.
“It’s the same as the walk of shame after an office party when you’ve tried to kiss the boss or got your boobs out on the photocopier.
“You still have to walk in on Monday and face the music. Do the dance of shame and you get a lot more respect from everybody.”
Strictly Come Dancing airs on BBC One.
Kevin has already been confirmed to return as a pro dancer in 2019.
